My first-ever crack at blogging

I have never blogged before, but when Cindy asked me if I could create a blog, I could not say no! It is worth a try. As I sit here on the front porch of Madame Karo's* front porch watching a chicken strut by, I cannot help but wonder--will I be able to talk about what matters? What does one talk about in a blog? Anything and everything I suppose. So all this to say, this will most likely just be a collection of my impressions and serve as a catalogue of my daily activities more than anything else. I hope you enjoy what is to come!

*Madame Karo is the head of the Gede Special school, and I am staying with her for the duration of my time here in Kenya.
